Every morning, before the sun is even fully up, a young girl named Gladys begins her walk to school. It's a long journey, over an hour each way, but she makes it every single day because she believes her education matters.

Gladys is an orphan. She doesn't have the comfort of a school uniform like the other children, or the small everyday things that make school feel a little easier. But what she does have is determination, a quiet strength that reminds us why we do this work.

When we met Gladys during one of our school visits, her story stayed with us. A child who walks that far, that faithfully, deserves more than we could give her in that moment. She deserves a uniform to wear with pride. She deserves the basic tools every child needs to learn and grow.
